John Kelly - he spent his entire childhood living on Bunker Street in Rockingham and went to Pee Dee School 1st thru 8th grade and he played on the Pee Dee football team (Pee Dee Pistons). A somewhat normal childhood but he always had a vivid imagination. He did a tour in Viet Nam after high school where he constantly entertained his army buddies with stories from Pee Dee. They recorded them and sent them all over the country because they thought he made them up.

Now, John is going to start sharing his stories on Rockingham Memories. You will find them humorous and entertaining, to say the least. Another contributor to this website, John Dubose, got my attention when he copied me on some of John Kelly's stories. John Dubose was good friends with John Kelly's brother Bruce and John Kelly remembers my late brother Gary, whom used to visit Lefty's at Five Points quite often, not to mention all the antics he would get into during those years.

So, it's always good to get more input on the website from people with memories to share of growing up in Rockingham and Richmond County during the 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond. If you enjoy his stories, leave some feedback on the website. 091511.
