James "Jay" Hudson - known in grammar school and high school as J.C. He now prefers Jay and advised that his dad preferred he be called J.C. when he was young. Our high school annual noted that J.C. or Jay, as he will be referred to from now on, as ...car fan...blushes...science fiction...always occupied.
Jay is a 1966 Rockingham High graduate - just as I am. And, he has had heart problems - just as I have. In fact, Jay is now on a waiting list for a heart transplant at Duke. He says that every time his phone rings, he jumps.
If you click on the title above, it will take you to Jay's blog - Jay's Musing. I have not read all the stories therein but I can readily see that Jay has that special talent for writing. In fact, he list writer as his occupation on Facebook.
Jay wrote a newspaper column for several years, just corny anecdotes - he says. His stories were all based on truth with a liberal amount of fiction added.
He's been working on a historical Civil War novel, titled Montgomery Gray, for the last five years. It's based on his g-g-grandfather's experiences in the war. He was captured outside Appomattox on April 3,1865 ,just six days before Gen. Lee surrendered.
So, if you love good stories that have a sense of humor, come from the heart and are written by a hometown boy that still lives in Rockingham, check out his blog above.
One more thing I might add - keep Jay in your prayers that a donor will be found shortly......that way, Jay can quit jumping every time that phone rings!
