Rockingham Memories
Another new page added to Rockingham Memories today, 03-11-12. I received an email from Mallory Brown with the Richmond County Daily Journal inquiring whether or not I put items on my website when folks were trying to identify a photo, etc. and informed her I did - but, I didn't have a specific page for items such as this - so, here is the new page created to help people identify items that they might need some help on. All you need to do is send me an email with the attachment or mail the photo, etc. to me and I will scan it and  return it to you. Any new entries will be added to the top of the list and any that are identified will be noted. Maybe between me and the Journal, we will give Richmond County residents a little more hope of identifying items that they have.
The item below added 03-11-12.
The photo below was given to me by Jane McCracken Mercer to scan and put out there for all to view and maybe help identify it or some of the people pictured here. The gentleman kneeling in the white shirt is Jane's grandfather, Samuel McCracken. Jane thinks this was taken either in Rockingham or Abbyville, S.C. Not sure about the date but I would guess maybe in the 40s to 50s but of course, I am probably wrong. When I scanned it, I made it large in order that you can get better detail of the individuals and maybe help in naming any of these men. 07/18/12.

Howard Richardson wants to see if anyone can identify this. Believe it is from 1850-1875. He knows what it is but would like to see if anyone else can identify it. 07/20/12.
