Recycled Bumper Cars
Remember the bumper cars at carnivals, circuses, fairs, amusement parks, etc? Well, the following photos are of some street legal vintage bumper car bodies that have been transformed by Tom Wright in the San Diego area. He figured the leftovers of the Long Beach Pike amusement park needed a more dignified end than the trash heap.
They were originally powered by Harley engines, but rattled something fierce, so Tom replaced them with Honda or Kawasaki 750s. A couple have been 'measured' [not run] at theoretically 160 mph which is terrifyingly fast in machines with such a short wheelbase.
